MKDRS Holds Fantastic Yom Ha’atzmaut Party

Were you thinking about coming to this year’s Yom Ha’atzmaut Party but, for some reason, decided against it? Well, we don’t mean to gloat but, all we can say is….YOU MISSED OUT!!!

On Sunday 12^th May, MKDRS proved, beyond all doubt, that it knows how to put on a superb party! As well as lots of activities for the kids, including our popular temporary tattoos (we even had Israeli flags!) and name-bracelet making, our fabulous DJ, Leon Leenders, played a wonderful medley of Israeli and English tracks and ensured there was something for everyone.

Our Israeli dancing set, led by Jayne Robinson and Limor Lester, was a huge success, and ensured that everyone will now feel confident about joining in with the Moshiach dance at future Bar / Bat Mitzvahs and weddings!

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful members, we were able to offer a delicious array of foods, including hot falafels with hoummus and pitta bread, along with the most amazing, gluten-free, Israeli flag birthday cake as the centrepiece, made by Priscilla Dorrance, AKA ‘the Gluten-Free Baking Queen’, which tasted absolutely delicious. One member said it was the best, gluten-free cake she’d ever tasted!

Our thanks also go to Debbie Rowland for supervising the kitchen; all of the Cheder children for helping to decorate the room; David Lester for managing Security; Helen and Wayne Ansell for helping with the activities and Danniella Ansell for managing the tattoo table with such efficiency!

Everyone who attended said they really enjoyed the party, and we were particularly happy to be able to welcome some new families, along with our wonderful members. A big thank you from MKDRS to everyone who supported the event and made it so successful.
